Casualty Claims Appraiser

Department: Liability Claims/Work Comp
Location: Mondovi, WI

Purpose:
To direct flow of auto liability claims in Risk Management; proper adjusting of casualty files from onset of loss through settlement to minimize and reduce exposures to company.

Responsibilities:
1. Receive first reports relating to coverage
2. Process claims to insure proper handling occurs to conclusion
3. Direct claims as required to outside adjuster and follow adjuster activities to conclusion
4. Handle claims within department per procedures to insure investigation, evaluation, and settlement complete
5. Manage correspondence relating to claims
6. Train new members of department in position as required
7. Maintain diary system relating to claims issues
8. Create procedures to follow when new systems/duties added to department.
9. Notify company departments as required of accidents/ injuries.
10. Communicate with internal/external customers to insure coverage, costs of services needed are met
11. Attend management and other meetings relating to department as required
12. Handle some physical damage and subrogation claims
13. Other duties as assigned

Abilities / Skills Required:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills

Physical Requirements:
Above average cognitive/judgment skills, sitting for long periods, manual dexterity, light lifting stooping, bending, listening and speaking ability

Education/Training Required:
Two year degree with 2-3 years job related experience, insurance background helpful
